On a 2nd visit to a private residence on New Years Eve 2008/2009, the BirminghamIU team all felt very heavy and even Paul who isn’t a trance medium managed to go into a partial trance and his face took on different features. The investigation continued into a 2nd part on New Years Day evening. Gareth went into full trance on 2 occasions.

As in all our investigations, we took background readings and wrote down anything that could potentially effect our equipment readings or could be picked up by us during a vigil, E.g. lights from passing vehicles, the fridge, any drafts Etc. On New Years Eve there was a lot of explainable activity outside including lots of people shouting, walking past the building outside along with lots of passing traffic. The noise made it harder to concentrate and eliminate any unexplained sounds on the main part of the paranormal investigation, but may have had something to do with why there appeared to be so much energy in the location which was felt by all. Throughout the evening we heard lots of unexplained knocks and taps, we also noticed a few unusual sudden spikes on one of the EMF meters and an we saw our temperature readings drop quite quickly too at one point. The following night was much quieter outside and it was easier to concentrate on the investigation and listen for unexplained sounds. We still heard unexplained tapped throughout the evening. Paul & Peter however didn’t feel as heavy as New Years Eve, but Gareth still felt enough energy to attempt full trance mediumship.

Video 1 - Gareth Gets Taken Over By The Spirit of Alex on New Years Eve

The 1st video shows Gareth get taken by the spirit of allegedly a former resident on New Years Eve 2008/2009, watch his changed facial features as he certainly looks quite old when he’s actually in his early twenties at the time of filming. On this video the spirit comes across rather aggressive, but when Gareth got taken a 2nd time by the same spirit the following night, the spirit apologised and proved he was a very respectable gentlemen named Alex (see 3rd video). Unfortunately people often jump to the wrong conclusion that spirits are evil or even demons when they are simply confused and/or upset which isn’t surprising considering they have been through. Parental guidance is advised.

Video 2 - Paul attempts to go into full trance for the 1st time on New Years Eve

The 2nd Video is coming soon! It shows Paul who isn’t officially a trance medium attempting to go into full trance for the first time. He managed to go into partial trance, but didn’t managed to go all the way. The video is amazing however as it shows Paul’s face completely change and also his stomach looks much fatter than normal. When we spoke to the spirit of Alex who we suspect was trying to take Paul the following night (see 3rd video), he said that he let himself go before his death and put on a lot of weight. We noticed that Paul looked fatter than usual before we had this additional information.

Video 3 - Alex Apologises and Communicates Respectfully Through Gareth on New Years Day

The 3rd video is coming soon! It shows Gareth again getting taken by Alex on New Years Day evening (trance mediumship). Again see how Gareth’s face is changed to take on new facial features. This time after a few minutes of silence, Alex introduces himself and eventually apologises for his behaviour on the 1st taking. He then starts communicating in a reasonable and respectful way when he agrees to accept Gareth as a resident in the property as long as we acknowledge that he lived there too, which of course we did. We chat about various subjects, mainly about his life at this location according to Alex and we discover that he is a very respectable, independent and proud gentleman. Some subjects he talks about are rather controversial, but we agree mostly so to induce a reasonable conversation and not to upset Alex in any way. It doesn’t mean that BirminghamIU really take on these views about these subjects, we try to be open minded and impartial. It was a shame that we finally had to bring Gareth back after around 20 minutes as Alex had more to say, but we don’t leave anyone in full trance for more than about 20 minutes even if the trance medium is quite experienced, this is a safety precaution. Also full trance usually takes a lot out of the trance medium although they do always make a full recovery. We promised Alex that it wouldn’t be his last opportunity and thanked him for talking. It was quite sad to see him go after such a pleasant conversation.
