I have compiled a video showing four light anomalies we caught on film while initially exploring a possible new location in Shenstone. The location is roughly twenty miles from Birmingham City Centre and about three miles from Lichfield. For our forum readers, the church is called "St John The Baptist Church". What makes the location interesting is there used to be an old Norman church which stood around fifty yards from the newer church building. The original old church tower is still standing today, although it's sealed off as it's dangerous. The newer church is still historic as it was built in 1854. A public footpath leads through the graveyard, it's high up on a hill and there is a good view around.

For the purposes of the Internet, the light anomaly video is unfortunately stored in lower quality than it was actually originally filmed. I have also dubbed over the original soundtrack in order to give a talk through, but nothing else is changed on the initial video. After showing the initial video, I digitally zoom in and use slow motion where appropriate so people can examine the anomalies better. I intend to upload the original video with the original soundtrack in full quality, totally unedited in any way for download, exclusively for people who visit our website.

All the light anomalies appeared as spherical balls of light that moved across the screen. Two of the light anomalies are quite easy to spot. They appear quite bright from the left side of the picture, then they move towards the centre, turn around and leave roughly where they appeared. One anomaly appears very quickly at the top right of the screen and leaves to the right. One anomaly is hard to spot, but appears to come out of the ground towards the right of the entrance while the first light anomaly appears to the left of the video.

We was using Infra-red, Sony Super Night Shot Plus with an extra Infra-red emitter, but the area in question was dimly lit by lights outside the building. The extra emitter wouldn't normally show up objects this far away from the camcorder if the location was pitch black, unless they actually emit their own light source.

No torches were on nearby and I saw the first ball of light with my naked eye when I looked away from the camcorder screen as I was filming. If it was an insect or dust, this wouldn't be visible like this to the naked eye, also the light anomalies stay spherical and don't look or move like any insect. It was also filmed on a cold night in November 2008 and it was too cold for most insects to fly. We have caught insects in the past on much warmer evenings and they don't stay spherical, instead they usually appear to flutter. We couldn't recreate any anomalies what-so-ever after we continued filming for quite sometime at the same location afterwards, that night and then other nights. We repeatedly panned the camera back and forth and at other angles, filming in the exact same spot and nearby, nothing was found to be reflecting. The bright light by the church entrance created mild light distortion on the film, but this was nothing like the anomalies captured. The location was also physically checked thoroughly and there really wasn't any obvious cause for the anomalies. There was a car parked nearby, but no-one was in it and even if some-one was hiding, they couldn't have recreated what was captured even with a torch. One may suspect some-one was inside the church, but even if they were, this couldn't have been recreated from inside.

I won't say the anomalies were definitely caused by paranormal activity, but so far they are unexplained at the present time. What do you think?
